| The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 came into force on 6 April 2007. These new regulations combined together Construction Design & Management Regulations and Construction (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations into a single set of regulations Construction Design & Management 2007.

The role of the Construction Design & Management Co-ordinator includes:- Advise and assist the client with his/her duties
- Notify HSE of projects of more than 30 days duration and 500 persons days
- Co-ordinate health and safety aspects of design work and co-operate with others involved with the project
- Ensure good communication between client, designers and contractors
- Liaise with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design
- Identify, collect and pass on pre construction information
- Prepare/update health and safety files
